Sydney, Australia – British No 1 Johanna Konta, has had a fantastic week of tennis at the Apia International Sydney. She capped it off with a scintillating display of power tennis by beating world No 3, Agnieszka Radwanska in the finals 6-4 6-2 on Friday evening.
It is a fine showing of form for Konta, as she had lost her previous two matched to Radwanska last year, heading into the first major of the year next week in the Australian Open. Konta did not drop her serve in the match and hit winner after winner , to go along with 12 aces to finally get past Radwanska. We will be curious to see if she can carry her form into Melbourne and possibly claim her first Grand Slam title.
